Since the last year, we have been hearing rumors about the return of Mi Pad series. Xiaomi is rumored to finally unveil the new tablet series later this year. The company will unveil the Mi Pad 5 alongside a Mi Pad 5 Pro. The new tablets should go official alongside the new Xiaomi MI CC11 series in China in August. Ahead of this probable release, new key details about the new Mi Pad 5 have emerged. According to the new leak, the new device will pack a behemoth 10.95-inch LCD with minimal bezels. This LCD will come with 120 Hz of refresh rate.
Today, a official-looking poster has leaked online. It confirms the Mi Pad 5 possible design. The device indeed has thin bezels on the top and bottom. This is remarkable when we take in mind that we have a LCD screen here. Interestingly, there is no cutout visible on the display. However, the front-facing camera may be located on the top bezels. Besides the display size and 120 Hz refresh rate, reports suggest it will come with a 2K resolution. That should make sense considering how big this display is and a Full HD+ resolution may not be so crispy as it is on a smartphone.
Mi Pad 5 alleged specifications
The device also features a dual-camera setup on the back. The rectangular-shaped camera module also brings a LED flash. Unfortunately, there is no official information about the camera’s specs. However, rumors suggest that the primary sensor is a 20 MP sensor while the secondary lens, probably ultrawide, stands with 13 MP of resolution. The Mi Pad 5 packs a 8,720mAh battery and we’re expecting no less than Xiaomi’s 67W wired-charging one time that the device adopts the dual-cell technology.
The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and runs MIUI for Pad OS. Moreover, it will offer support for handheld PC mode along with regular MIUI features. It is also likely to come with support for stylus and other related accessories such as keyboard cover. In fact, images of the tablet’s accessories have leaked via the CNIPA. The images reveal that Xiaomi will launch a new keyboard accessory alongside its new table. The new keyboard accessories comes with adjustable support, which allow users to til the display’s viewing angle when attached to the keyboard. It also has a slim cutout for keeping the smart stylus. There is a tiny cutout that will work as a connector to attach the tablet to the keyboard.
We expect more details to keep coming as the device’s release is drawing near.
