In a final gift before many nations worldwide enter 2022, MiHoYo has revealed the next Genshin Impact character. It appears the Genshin Impact Yae Miko leaks the other week are correct, as we now have official confirmation on the character.
Yae Miko Genshin Impact
According to the official announcement for MihoYo, Yae Miko is a head shrine maiden. Morso, she is a descendent of Kitsune’s lineage, meaning she could play an important role in the Kitsune storylines in the future. If that wasn’t enough for her plot armor, she is also an ‘intimidating editor in chief’ of Yae Publishing House. *writer of this article gulps*
Also, we got an actual official look of her. MiHoYo released a poster of her on Twitter, which is also where her lore background came from.
This character has been exciting players for quite some time. She’s already made appearances in the game through the Inazuma storyline. In Genshin Impact 2.0, we got a lore update on her, long setting her up as a character. According to Fandom, it was something like this:
“Yae Miko is the Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine. Her elegant and beautiful appearance belies an intelligent and cunning personality. She is a lady who is not easy to predict and has her own principles and methods of doing things.”
Overall, this character is more than likely going to set something up in Genshin’s long term storytelling, as she is a focal point of the narrative and has mysterious elements about her.
In terms of the Genshin Impact’s character release date, we don’t actually know. It is more than likely 2.5 related, which will occur sometime in February. It means sometime in mid-late January, we will get the 2.5 streams, which will confirm 100% how her appearance as a playable character will operate.
Before we get any more concrete information on her, we have 2.4 to get through first. Genshin Impact 2.4 is due to go live on January 5, 2022.
